Jack's daycare is having their Halloween party on Friday. Each parent has been asked to bring each child a little something to stick in their treat bag. I knew I wanted to do something that wasn't candy. Not only will they get plenty there but trick or treating is the very next day.
I found some very sturdy flashlights at Wal-Mart for a buck each. All the Halloween colors were gone so I went neutral with gray.
I don't own a Cricket and my printer ink has been out since this post. I used a pumpkin cookie cutter to draw out pumpkins on cardstock. I wrote "Click" or Treat on the pumpkins, punched a hole at the top, and used a green pipe cleaner to attach to the flashlight.
I'm happy with how they all turned out and I also feel happier knowing that each child will have a flashlight to take with them trick or treating.
Seriously such a cute idea!!!! Love the candy alternatives!!! Thanks for linking up and sharing :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! I love that you went with a non-food treat, I agree there is always more than enough candy to go around! I also love that it has a practical use. Props, my friend!

That is such a wonderful treat to give! And kids tend to love flash lights. Win win!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are going to love their flashlights!! I bet that'll be their favorite treat bag item - good thinking :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! My kids love playing with flashlights or having them on hand so they can read in bed.
